University of Leicester

The University of Leicester is an Outstanding (Ofsted 2016) Teacher Training Provider and is amongst the top Universities in the world.

They provide a rigorous and stimulating academic accompaniment to our practical teaching placements.

The School Direct PGCE Primary course will prepare you to teach across the full range of the Primary Curriculum. The University will introduce you to the wider context of teaching, including responding to diversity in school and the inclusion of Special Needs Education, as well as equipping you with classroom management and planning skills.

By the end of the course you will meet the required professional stands for Qualified Teachers Status (QTS), and will be awarded a University of Leicester PGCE. Their strong ethos of reflective practice will prepare you for your future career in teaching.

You will be allocated a highly experienced and supportive personal tutor to guide you through what will be an exciting and challenging year.

This responsibility will be shared with your Learn-AT School Direct leader, based at Church Langton CE Primary School.
