Pupils from years three, four, five and six represented our school in the Market Harborough Primary School’s swimming gala. The children swam in individual and relay races, with some children taking part in a gala for the first time. The team did well, achieving some excellent outcomes and should be proud to have finished fifth in the competition. Thank you to Mr Williams and Miss O’Neill for coaching the team.

Well done to the children from years five and six who represented the school in the match against Little Bowden Primary School. It was great to be able to host a fixture in December, thanks to the astro turf pitch and the girls made the most of the opportunity completing a well deserved victory. Thanks to Mrs Sparkes for coaching the team.

The children had a great time visiting DeMontfort Hall in Leicester to see the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk. The trip, subsidised by Friends of Church Langton, involved the whole school enjoying an early lunch before travelling by coach to the venue. The children enjoyed seeing the classic story being given a new twist, laughing and dancing along to the songs and jokes. It was a fantastic opportunity for the whole school to take part in a trip together, thanks to all involved in organsing and supporting the trip.

We were pleased to welcome Rev Janet to lead our worship on the theme of Christingle. The children heard the origins of the Christingle, considered what the various elements mean and were lead in prayer to think of those needing light in their lives. They were then very excited to light up the hall with glowsticks to emphasis the message of light.

Pupils from year four were very proud to decorate our tree at the annual Burton Overy Christmas Tree festival. They have been working in their design lessons this term to create their decorations using a range of different materials and were pleased to take our tree over to St Andrew’s Church for the annual event. Big thank you to Mrs Pemberton and Mrs Hudson for all their hard work supporting the children with their work.

The children really enjoyed seeing all of the other trees and if you would like to visit the festival runs from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th December.

A great Church Langton tradition, the decorations morning is a chance for parents to come and help the children create all kinds of cards, decorations and treats. Once again we had a brilliant response from parents who joined in with the staff and governors to support the children. The children each make a selection of items and each class then decorate a Christmas tree with their own creations. The children had a great morning, even having a visit from one of Father Christmas’ elves, and the school has certainly been transformed all ready for the build up to Christmas.
